He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Avery Reed and Nancy Gertrude Thompson (Wayne); his stepfather Art Thompson; his son Chad Johnson; and his siblings, Gary Reed, Charlene Cochran, Carolyn Foster and Joan Reed.

He is survived by : his wife Debbie Reed of Hornersville, Missouri.; and his children, Scott Jackson of Kennett, Samuel Reed of Greenville, Craig Reed (Dana) of Jonesboro, Lasonya Reed Spencer (Michael Smothers) of Kennett, Erica and Brooke Reed (Michael Newton) of Kennett. He is also survived by Fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Other relatives.
