He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arch Lynn and Effie Lea Trobaugh Lynn; and his siblings, Myrl O'Neal and Lacey Lynn. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Cheryl Watson (C. P.), David Lynn (Julie), Damon Lynn (Arti), Jonathan Lynn (Kelli), Matthew Cohn (Megan), Charlyn George (Michael), Claire Haney (Beau), Justin Lynn (Tori), Allyson Lynn, AJ Lynn, Devon Lynn, Ashton Lynn, Chloe Lynn and Aidan Lynn; his great grandchildren, Jagger Cohn, Hudson Cohn, Fitz George, Grady George, Anna Lynn Haney, Will Haney and Mason Lynn; and his siblings, W. G. "Dub" Lynn (Theresa), Karen Williams and Dennis Lynn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
