He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Homer, Annabelle Sharp, Chester and Opal Burks (King City); his father James "Jim" Oren Burks of Berlin, MO; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Burks (Union Star); and his parents-in-law, Bruce and Patricia Hall (King City).
He is survived by: his mother Carol Burks; his cousin Allen; his wife Sarah Burks (King City); his siblings, Randall Burks (Rebecca) of Trenton, MO, Cynthia Waller (Kevin) of Buncton, MO and Marvin Burks (Jeanie) of Berlin, MO; his children, Courtney Burks (Cody Smith) of Moberly, MO and Nicholas Burks (Madison) of King City, MO; and his grandchildren, Kyzaac of Moberly, MO, Kayzleigh of Moberly, MO and Kingston of Moberly, MO. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the King City First Christian Church (200 E Putnam St, King City, MO 64463). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
