He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Burks and Opal Burks (Motzkus); his siblings, Chester, Clifford, Marion Burks, Laura Simmons, Betty Marshall, Dorthea Dias and Margaret Lambert; his stepgrandson Josh Holdsworth; and his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Burks.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sharp; his children, James Randal Burks (Becky) of Trenton, MO, Cynthia Lee Waller (Kevin) of Bunceton, MO, Marvin Dean Burks (Jeanie) of King City, MO and Craig Alan Burks (Sarah) of King City, MO; and his sister Bertha Rodriguez (Alex) of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 6 step grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.
