He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Helen Young (Maxwell); his sister Doris Thompson; his great grandchild Oliver VanDyke; and his former wife Elfriede Emma Fuhr. He is survived by: his father James Franklin; his wife Sharon Kay Gardner; and his daughters, Michelle Chrisman of Kirksville, MO, Sandra Minturn of Omaha, NE, Salena Kutschara of Bennington, NE and Rachel Young of Kirksville, MO. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
