We are sad to announce that, on March 4, 2026 we had to say goodbye to John Franklin Burkhardt of Kirksville, Missouri, born in Edina, Missouri. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though John Franklin may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John Franklin touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Sharp; and his parents, Sam Burkhardt and Cele Burkhardt. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Tennyson (Ron) and Sarah Anderson; his grandchildren, Lacey Wilson (Chase), Kilynn Anderson and Henry Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Remington Wilson and Colt Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of John can be made to Hospice of Northeast Missouri or Operation Homefront.
