She is survived by: her parents, J. C. Steele and Beth Steele (Baker) of Yarrow, MO; her fiancé Jordan Hartman of Kirksville, MO; her daughter Nova Hartman; her sisters, Brittney of Kirksville, MO and Erin Steele of Kirksville, MO; her grandparents, Jerry, Wilda Steele of Yarrow, MO, Bill and Cel Baker of Hannibal, MO; her aunt Alice Phelps of Texas; and her uncle Billy Baker (Beth) of Hannibal, MO. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Monica may be made to her Mother, Beth Steele for the education of Monica's daughter Nova.
