It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine E. Fortner (Kirkwood, Missouri), who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Church; her husband John P. "Jack" Fortner; her children, Jim Fortner (Charlene), Mary Beth Barnett (Brian), Kathy Efken (Jon), John Fortner, Denise Povich (Tom) and Christine Blanner (Jesse); her grandchildren, Kevin, Hannah Fortner, Jake Barnett, Christian (Morgan), Lindsay, Jordan Efken, Courtney, Brooke Fortner, Grace, Matt Povich, Sophie and Jack Blanner; her sister Mary Ann Bottoms (Bill); and her sister-in-law Geneva Millstone.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church (2005 Dougherty Ferry Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
