He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Virgil and Lorine Compton (Holdenreid). He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Katie" (Chamberlin); his children, Mary Compton, Wheeler Compton (Lauren) and Susie Underland (Nathaniel); and his grandchildren, Wheeler Jr., Lottie Compton, Katie and Ida Underland.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church (2143 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Deacon's Fund at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
