She was predeceased by: her parents, John Avery Rice and Esther Matilda Rice (Yost); her husband Clarence Lee "Tuffy" Guthrie; her siblings, Preston McKinley "Mac" Rice, Marjorie Meierotto, Neva Geraldine Durley, Lee Etta Knuth and Alice Irene Cordes; and her grandson Andrew Shane Hughes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Jean Hughes of La Monte, Carla Sue Childers of La Monte and MaryLee Guthrie of La Monte; her grandchildren, Brooke Ashley Hughes-Muse (Timothy), Cal Avery Childers, Daniel Joseph Hughes (Crystal), Brett Allen Childers (Tessa) and Sydney Katelynn Guthrie; her great grandchildren, Willow, Rowan, Cypress "Danny", Magnolia Hughes-Muse, Sutton, Lyra, McGrady Hughes, Cree, Clover Childers, Beau and Arlo Childers; her siblings, Vernon "Buster" Rice of Hawaii, John Avery Rice of Alaska and Lillian Charlotte Butler of Belleville, IL; and her sister-in-law Carol Means Rice of Arizona. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Monte United Methodist Church (400 N Main St, La Monte, MO 65337). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:15 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the La Monte United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
