He was predeceased by: his son Dave E. Rupe II; his parents, Alfred Rupe and Ruth Coe Rupe; and his brothers, Sam and Larry Rupe.
He is survived by: his son Travis Rupe of Jasper; his granddaughter Kristine Hembrough of Oronogo; his sister Valerie Bricker of Carterville; and his grandchildren, Isaac Rupe, Devin Tusinger, Bryan Hembrough, Taylor Brown and Zackary Brown. He is also survived by four Great-Grandchildren.
