She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmanuel Tournquist and Lorene Tournquist (Moody); her husbands, Harold Phillips and Marvin Black; and her sons, Marvin Jr., Steve and Randy.
She is survived by: her children, Linda McDowell-Holcomb (Charlie), Gregory Black, Debi Gamm (Brian), Tony Black and Desta Franklin (Tom). She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church to help support their missionary work.
