He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Wright Russel, Sr. and Romina Vestal Russel; his former wife Cheryl Bobbitt; his son Gordon Russel Jr.; and his brother Donnie Russel.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Gross; his son Raymond; and his grandchildren, Kassey (Shae), Jessie, Kody (Jamie), Cara (Daniel), Cheyenne and Audrey. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation in Gordon's memory.
