She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie C. Pickering and Fern Opal Pickering (Casady); her son Brent Dean; her former husband Ronald Newman; her husband Robert Adkins; and her siblings-in-law, Martha Pickering, Connie Thomas, Garrett Newman, Milton Newman and Neal Newman.

She is survived by: her son Bryan Wayne Newman (Elise) of Niangua, MO; her brother Marvin Pickering of New Lennox, IL; her niece Janet Pickering; her nephew David Pickering (Andrea); her sister-in-law Gwynn Newman; her nephews, Adam and Ryan Newman; her sister-in-law Brenda Newman; her niece Alyssa Dickinsan; her nephew Steve Newman; her sister-in-law Ann Newman; her nephew Roger Newman; her brother-in-law Buddy Thomas; her nephew Bradley Thomas; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Reid (Nick), Madeline Shahan (Logan) and Heather Newman; her great grandchildren, Tucker, Kya, Tate Shahan and Evirley; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Sophie Reid. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

She even donated her baking talents to charity events.
