She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland James and Dica James; her husband Harold Norman Ackerson; her son Larry Ackerson; her siblings, Garland James, Lee James and JoAnn Dopp; and her great grandchild Emiley Anne Gant.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carlene Soptic and Cindy Burkin (David). She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
