As we bid Joan Carol farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joan Carol is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dean Shields and Trixie Shields (Collie); her son Micheal Ray Devers; and her brother Daryl Shields. She is survived by: her husband David Devers; her son Rick Devers (Nora) of Weston, MO; her grandchildren, Megan Hendrix (Beau) of Weston, MO and Micheal Ray Devers II of Weston, MO; and her great grandchildren, Landon and Connor Hendrix of Weston, MO..
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stith Funeral Home-Lathrop (901 Clinton St, Lathrop, MO 64465).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in care of the funeral home.
