We bid farewell to Richard Lee Lanning of Lathrop, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 5, 2025 at the age of 84. Richard Lee touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Alvin and Virginia Lee Lanning (Durkin); his brother Joe Lanning; and his stepgrandchildren, Abra Thrall and Alex Thrall.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Lanning; his sons, Terry Lanning (Barbara) of Riverside, MO, David Lanning of Liberty, MO and Chad Lanning (Jen) of Lathrop, MO; his grandchildren, Sam Lanning, Jackson Lanning, Ace Lanning, Amree Lanning and Asher Lanning; his stepgrandchild Nikki Thrall; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Belle Thrall, Karson Thrall and Britlyn Rudd; his brother Larry Lanning (Barbara) of Lawson, MO; his sister-in-law Lisa Lanning of Gower, MO; and his friend Jim Christopherson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church (110 Pine St, Lathrop, MO 64465). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Lathrop First Assembly of God Church for the Royal Rangers Program in care of the funeral home.
