He was predeceased by: his father Allen Eugene. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Thompson Veanes of Lebanon, Missouri; his wife Peggy Lee Gant; his children, Hannah Bowers (John) of Lebanon, Missouri and Matthan Veanes (Caitlyn) of Lebanon, Missouri; his grandchildren, Micah, Lexie, Annabell and Gabby; and his sister Valerie Upson of Rochester. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established to Shriner's Hospital Burn Unit in Galveston, Texas and donations may be made through the funeral home.
