He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis A. Jones and Bessie Smith; his wife Peggy So Smith; and his daughter Susie Runge. He is survived by: his children, Peggy Jo Smith of Lebanon, Missouri, Dennis Smith of Lebanon, Benjamin Smith of Lebanon and Phillip Runge of Illinois; and his siblings, Jack Smith of Ohio, Brenda Hines of Laredo, Jean Sims of Leesburg and Kate Batten of Dunkirk, Indiana. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holman-Howe Funeral Homes (320 S Adams Ave, Lebanon, MO 65536). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
