He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Turney and Jewel Turney; his wife Alice C. Reiter; his daughter Denise Kelley; and his siblings, Alcidene Pendleton, Lorene Henderson, Ilene Turney, Nadence Legant, Nelda Faye Turney, Ray Turney, Billy Turney and Paul Turney.
He is survived by: his children, Deanne Miller, Denna Hensley (Randy), Eddie Turney, Jr. and Dan Turney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
