With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Edward Lass of Lees Summit, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2026 at the age of 73. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Lass and Elaine (Rasley); and his sister Janice (Cambers). He is survived by: his wife Diane (Baker); his children, Amy Spangler (Brad) of Belton, MO, Kevin Lass of Lee's Summit, MO and Cathy Banner of Greenwood, MO; his grandchildren, Brennan, Natalee Weber, Aubrey Lass, Jacob and Caden Banner; and his sisters, Judy (Johnston) of Amsterdam, MO and Jeananne (Nichols) of Waco, TX.
