James Eugene Turrentine Obituary

In loving memory of James Eugene Turrentine of Lees Summit, Missouri, born in Independence, Missouri, who departed this world on July 12, 2025 at the age of 89. James Eugene leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Turrentine and Mildred Turrentine (Atkinson); his brother Teddy Turrentine; and his great grandchildren, Berkeley and Jozie Alphin.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Turrentine; his daughters, Kathe Redel (Wendell) and Karen Marlborough (Matt); and his grandchildren, Jacob Redel (Emily), Megan Alphin (Anthony), Jenna Catapano (Mike) and Morgan Oghenejobo (Ovie).

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Memorial (10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131). A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Winterset Clubhouse (2505 SW Wintercreek Dr, Lee's Summit, MO 64081).
