She was predeceased by: her parents, Claurice Godfrey Closson and Leona Myrtle Closson (DuVall); her spouse Merle Ray Culbertson; her son-in-law Jim Whiting; her granddaughter Karina Quail; and her siblings, Barbara Carder, Warren Closson and Robert Closson.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Whiting of Yankton, SD, Sharon Bolliger (Greg) of Overland Park, KS, Janice Darlene Culbertson of Lee's Summit, MO, William Culbertson of Yankton, SD and Elizabeth VanWinkle of Lee's Summit, MO; Robert Gray (Adelina) of Pheonix, AZ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Missouri School for the Blind or Macular Degeneration Foundation.
