She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Phillips and Ruth Phillips; her husband Robert Boyd; and her siblings, Velma, Rose and Marvin Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Allen Messick, Mark Messick, Mike Messick (Kathy), Kathy Newman and Bryan Messick; and her stepchildren, Anne Boyd, Ron Boyd and Christina Boyd. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the John Knox Village Foundation in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
