Though Joseph may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joseph touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was predeceased by: his father Robert Lewis; his aunt Betty Joline Willeford; his uncle Alton "Willie" Willeford; and his cousin Becky Willeford. He is survived by: his mother Donna Lewis; his siblings, Bob Lewis, Jon Lewis and Barbara Lewis; and his cousin Chris Willeford.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations on behalf of Joe made to Saint Luke's Foundation (supporting Saint Luke's East Hospital) to support compassionate care for others.
