The passing of Mary Jane Bachkora of Lees Summit, Missouri leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 22, 2025 at the age of 95. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Nelson and Patricia Nelson (Kenney). She is survived by: her children, Charlie Bachkora (Patty) of Olathe, KS, Kevin Bachkora (Laura) of Lee's Summit, MO, Tom Bachkora (Carrie) of Overland Park, KS, Mary Bachkora of Lee's Summit, MO and Rose Schaffer (Van) of Lawrence, KS; and her siblings, Rose Callahan and Robert Nelson of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Curran Funeral Chapel (3005 S Locust St, Grand Island, NE 68801). A vigil service was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (408 W 11th St, Wood River, NE 68883). A burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (16400 US-30, Wood River, NE 68883).
