He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Dr. James Downey (Jim) and Clara Downey (Haas); his wife Lelain of Lee's Summit; his sons, Kevin (Kathy) and Ben (Lindsey) of South Bend, IN; his stepdaughter Sofie Grace of Micanopy, FL; his sister Karen Downey of Kansas City, MO; his nephew Jason Tirk of Kansas City, KS; and his aunt Dorothy Shelley of Daytona Beach, FL. He was also cherished by grandchildren.
