With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wayne Cowley of Lees Summit, Missouri, born in Horton, Kansas, who passed away on September 21, 2022 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles E. Cowley and Virginia J. Cowley (Cashman); and his adoptive parents, Carl Smith and Geraldine Smith. He is survived by : his uncle Carl; his aunt Geraldine Smith (Cashman); his wife Cheryl Cowley (Hibdon) of Lee's Summit; his sons, Aaron Cowley (Helena) of Boston, Scott Cowley (Janelle) of Hiawatha and David Bales (Sarah) of Raymore, Missouri; his grandchildren, Channing Cowley, Vera Cowley, Ariel Cowley (James), Keeley Earp (Zach), Alec Cowley, Kendra Cowley, Wyatt Bales (Mandi), Sadie Smith (Germon) and Dawson Bales; his great grandchildren, Hunter Sherman, Hayden Bales, Walker Bales and Maisyn Smith; his siblings, Patsy Smith of Powhattan, William Smith (Leda) of Hiawatha and David Cowley of Hiawatha; and his friend Mark Teahan. He is also survived by other relatives; and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Saint Luke's Health and Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
