He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Long and Betty Rice Long; and his sister Jeanetta Long Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Valoree Beretta Maycock; his daughter Dr. Whitnee Maycock (Shane Gore); his grandchildren, Brenden Gore and Harrington Rudy Lou Gore; his brother-in-law Don Shaw; his nephew Jeff Shaw (Anita); and his siblings-in-law, Denise Beretta (Don Wester) and Kirt Beretta (Carla). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wentworth Military Academy Museum in honor of Bob's lifelong appreciation for the academy and its lasting impact on his life.
