He was predeceased by : his parents, Lyle Runnels and Alene Bernice Runnels (James); his former life partner Jo Anne Runnels (Gresham); his children, Carol Lee Runnels and Bret J. Runnels; his stepdaughter Michelle Keener; his sister Jo Kirby; his nephews, Tim Kirby and Colby Gregory; and his brothers-in-law, JD Kirby and Doug Gregory.
He is survived by : his wife Janet Runnels; his son Kirk Runnels (Sandy) of Jasper, Missouri; his grandchildren, Lindsay Runnels Rizzo (John), Erin Thompson and Clay Runnels (Allie); his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Keener (Reagan), Chelsie Dollarhide (Caleb), Kylie Keener (Ben Reist), Jami Job (Bryan) and Kyle Teague (Shandi); his sister Pam Gregory of Liberal, Missouri; and his stepson-in-law Rodney Keener of Salina, Oklahoma. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Nashville Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
