It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Lois Bechtel of Liberty, Missouri, born in North Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Pearl (Barber) and Everett Samuel Hayes; her brothers, Donald, Richard and Kenny Hayes; and her sister-in-law Jeanne Hayes (White).

She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Yanez (Brian) of Overland Park, KS and Jill Murphy (Gale) of Frankfort, IL; and her grandchildren, Logan Murphy (Tori), Lindsey Murphy, Ruben Yanez and Richelle Yanez. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends and family.

Helen and her family have asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made in Helen's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Ronald McDonald House.
