He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Sutton (Burn) and Roy Sutton Sr.; and his siblings, Bill Lee Sutton, Shirley O'Brien and Lavada Hall.

He is survived by: his former wife Doris Sutton; his sister-in-law Joanne Sutton; his wife Terry Edens Sutton; his daughters, Kelly Elmore and Kim VanMeter (Shawn); and his granddaughter Amy Barchers (Kent). He is also survived by his sister- in-law, as well as many other relatives and friends.
