He was predeceased by: his parents, Randall D. Shields and Goldie F. Shields (Garrison); and his sisters, Lula Belle Matney, Helen Jenkins and Eula Faye Darr.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Randall Shields (Deborah) of Mt. Sterling, Roger Shields (Cherie) of Wentzville, Kathy Dukes (Michael) of Moncks Corner and Thomas Shields of Lonedell; his siblings, Paul Shields of Jefferson City and Norma Jean Null of Overland; his grandsons, Alex (Jessi), Nathan and Garrett; and his great grandchildren, Eleanor and Bennett.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Oklahoma Church of Christ (752 County Rd 205, Chamois, MO 65024). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Of Christ Cemetery (752 County Rd 205, Chamois, MO 65024).
Graveside services and interment will be held at the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org), P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
