He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Boyd Hunter and Russie Mae Hunter (Fry). He is survived by : his wife Wanda Kay Hunter; his son David Robert Hunter; his daughter-in-law Debra Branstetter Hunter; his granddaughter Lauren Hunter Haskins; his grandson-in-law Bryon Jacob Haskins; his siblings-in-law, Fred Bridwell and Phyllis Bridwell; and his niece Malia Bridwell.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (121 S 8th St, Louisiana, MO 63353). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
