He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Stokes and Sylvia Stokes (Buswell); and his brother Weldon Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Velma C. Ayer of Macon; his daughters, Julie Humphrey (Greg) of Princeton, MO and Lisa Grellner (Kevin) of Linn, MO; his grandchildren, Tori Hague (Levi), Carter Humphrey (Bobbie), Ethan Grellner (Dakota), Sylvia Grellner, Sydney Grellner and Evan Grellner; and his great grandchildren, Hudson, Lawson Hague, Amyah, KaLeah and Quinn Humphrey.
A rosary will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home (301 N Rubey St, Macon, MO 63552). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Mary's Catholic Church of Shelbina (307 E Chestnut St, Shelbina, MO 63468).
