He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Chester Simons and Cleo May Simons (Harrington); his brothers, Harry (Zee), Jack (Ruby) and Jerald (Leona Simons); his nephew Dirk Simons; and his daughter-in-law Steacy Simons.

He is survived by: his significant other Vaudia Sattman; his sons, Jeffrey Simons (Andrea) of Macon, Jason Simons of Macon and Jarrod Simons of Macon; his grandchildren, Jennabeth Simons, Brock Simons, Jessie Foote, Christopher Fraley, Hope Simons, Jordan Simons and Allison Simons; his great grandchildren, Hudson, Delaney Little, Maddox Havice and Verity Fraley; and his sisters, Vickie Raishe (Dennis) of Macon and Tonni Smith (Bob) of Macon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
