She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Olarue Mitchell and Norma Josephine Houston; her daughter Jeanette Holmes (Dennis Childs); and her siblings, John Houston, Paul Douglas, Linda Baggett, Louella Mayfield, Edith Yamoah and Sylvester Mitchell II.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvester Mitchell III of JeffersonCity, MO, Jeremy Holmes (Jessica) of Florissant, MO and Kachette Holmes (Derek) of Macon, MO; her grandchildren, Keiara, Jairee, Taelan, Neveah Holmes, Bailey, Tara Mitchell, Aniyah and Jayceon Garner; her great grandchildren, Aubryelle, Kaliah, Ezrah and Oaklynne; and her brother Kenneth Houston of Macon. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home (301 N Rubey St, Macon, MO 63552). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
