She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Lee Higgs and George; her spouse Willie Higgs, Sr.; her siblings, Alberta Green (Charlie, Sr.), Samuel Young (Mary Ann), Cecil Young, Neil Young (Mattie Lou), Mary Blackwell (Melvin), Flossie Wilson (Calvin) and Isaiah Young (Lottie); her children, Willie Higgs, Jr. (Georgia), Floyd Higgs (Suzette), Samuel Higgs (Lavada) and Sherrod Higgs; and her daughter-in-law Rae Higgs.
She is survived by: her siblings, George Young, Jr. (Mary Lee) and Margresta Young; her children, Beatrice Washington, Harley Higgs (Dianna), Loretta Higgs (Cornell), Margaret Higgs, Marjorie Higgs, Toney Higgs (Rebecca), Rose M. Wright (Darrell), Shabazz Decatur (Chris) and Michael Higgs (Michelle); and her friend Mother Mable Edwards. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren.
