He is survived by: his wife Vivian Joan Phillips; his children, Darla Brown (Ben) of Malden, Carl Gene Mathews (Arely) of Corpus Christi, Texas, William F. Mathews (Jenna) of Brookland and Robert D. Mathews (Jordan) of Qulin; his grandchildren, Aryssa Benavidez, Hannah Brown, Rylie Brown, Ayden Benavidez, Tenley Mathews, Grayson Mathews, Tripp Mathews and Carson Mathews; and his nieces and nephews, Mike Mathews of St. Louis, MO, Cassie Mathews of Poplar Bluff, Melba Mathews Green of Rector, Arkansas, Richard Mathews (Carolyn) of Malden, Jerry Mathews (Angie) of Malden, Kathy Mallet (Tom) of Malden and Becky Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Landess Funeral Home (201 N Douglass St, Malden, MO 63863). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel (201 N Douglass St, Malden, MO 63863).
