He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Schatzer and Kathryn Schatzer (Erickson); his daughter Laura Kay Belew; and his sisters, Carolyn Tolliver, Judy Lee Crutcher, Patricia Riley and Carole Cunningham.

He is survived by : the mother of his children Carolyn Rapp of Marionville; his children, Tim Schatzer (Christina) of Marionville, Jody Wilcox (Jeff) of Springfield, Michael Schatzer (Robin) of Mt. Vernon, Lyle Schatzer (Melissa) of Strafford, Shane Schatzer (Rachel) of Rogersville, Kelly Schatzer of Sarcoxie and Jolein Willhite (Justin) of Marionville; and his son-in-law Paul Belew of Springfield. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home (300 S Central Ave, Marionville, MO 65705). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (301 S College Ave, Marionville, MO 65705). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Smart Cemetery.
