She was predeceased by: her parents, Eunice Nichols and W. D. Nichols. She is survived by: her husband Gary Whitener; her children, Laura Jamrozy (Steve) of Washington, D. C., Lana Deason (Brant) of Lee's Summit, MO and Kerry Whitener (Kim) of Rogersville, MO.; her grandchildren, Katie Jamrozy-Hamby (Mike), Emily Schanze (Baxter), Rachel Jamrozy (Ian Evans) and Keegan Whitener; her stepgrandsons, Nick Hurshman (Katie) and Nathan Hurshman (Ruthanna); her great grandchildren, Lee and Davis Hamby; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Beckam Dallas, Quinn and Marenn Hurshman; her siblings-in-law, Larry Whitener (Sandra) and Susan Settle (Doug); her niece Andrea Whitener; and her nephews, Rodney Whitenter, Wes Settle and Brandon Settle.
