He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Herndon and Genevieve Bryan Herndon. He is survived by : his wife Helen Stephenson; his daughter Rachel Johnson of Columbia, MO; his stepsons, Jason Wright of Marshall and Justin Wright (Cindy) of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Shelby Gibson (Brent), Regina Wright, Kayli Wright and Braden Grimes; his great grandchildren, Bentlye Gibson and Zane Gibson; his brother Steve Herndon of Marshall Junction; and his cousin Mike Herndon (Marsha) of Gladstone, MO..

Memorials are suggested to Hazel Grove Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
