He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Nehl and Verena Fedie Nehl; his daughter Patsy Kay Murphy; his brother James Nehl; his sister-in-law Rachel Nehl; and his nephew Jon Nehl.
He is survived by: his wife Annie; his son Doug Peak (Mali); his son-in-law J. D. Garner; his siblings, Diane McCay (Rick) and Pat Nehl; his niece Marcellina Brown; his nephews, Bryan Nehl (Denise), Michael Cox (Kari), Jonathan McCay (Chasity), Ryan McCay and Richard McCay; his grandchildren, Britney Dell (David), Hattie Corbett, Kenneth Peak and Jon Peak; and his great grandchildren, Cameron, Meadow, Finnick and Patton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Webster County Pantry or Holy Trinity Youth Group.
