He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Meyer and Rosaly Meyer (Sickmann); his siblings, Betty Gildehaus, Elroy Meyer, Lawrence Meyer, Dorothy Ackmann, Judy Ruether and Patsy Hellebusch; and his in-laws, Orville Gildehaus, Dorothy Barker (Ed), Russell Mayer, Jim Hellmann, Jerome Hellmann and Bob Hellmann (Ruth).

He is survived by: his wife Rita Meyer (Hellmann) of John's Gildehaus Catholic Church; his children, Mary Jo Trentmann (Kent), John Meyer, Steve Meyer (Sandy), Daniel Meyer (Tonya) and Cheryl Burnham (Tommy); his grandchildren, Brian Kopp (Theresa), Jeremy Kopp (Jessica), Brooklynn Meyer, Cole Trentmann, Ben Meyer, Christian Meyer, Jacob Trentmann, Cameron Meyer, Abby Meyer, Addyson Meyer, Ella Meyer, Mackenzie Burnham and Elliot Burnham; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Edwin, Hattilynn and Caleb; his siblings, Jim Meyer (Alice), Bob Meyer (Marsha), Leo Meyer (Myriam), Tom Meyer (Dianne), Rich Meyer (Aurie), Mary Fischer (Hank), Rosemary Carpenter (Charles), Lenora "Tootie" Eagan (Maurice) and Helen Kleekamp (Gary); and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Meyer, Rosie Meyer, Mary Ann Hellmann, Rosalie Mayer, Therese Schwoeppe (Kenneth), Mary Hellmann, Lorraine Hellmann, Kenny Ackmann, John Ruether, Jim Hellebusch, Dennis Hellmann (Darlene) and Leo Hellmann. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred or donations made in memory of Ted to St. Ignatius Church.
