It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Nelson of Maryville, Missouri, born in Barnard, Missouri, who passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry R. Schmitt and Anna M. Schmitt (Fuller); her husband Virgil Nelson; her daughter Sharon Drake; and her siblings, Harry L. Schmitt, C. Afton Schmitt and Verlene Kelly.

She is survived by : her grandson Noah Hasty Nelson; and her son Kim Nelson (Tonya). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
