She was predeceased by: her parents, Havilla "Bill" Smith and Ruth Smith (Kempf); her spouse Glenn E. Nielson; her son-in-law Dudley Nave; and her sisters, Doris McElroy, Jessie Adams and Bethie Dolman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Richardson (John), Kathy McNeese (Neil Abbott) and Brenda Nave; her grandchildren, Travis Beattie (Paula), Michael Beattie (Kandy), Donna Joy (Ryan), Bryan Nave (Jennifer), Dennis Richardson (Rhonda) and Erika Flegel (Aaron); and her siblings, Donald Smith (Roselea) and Mandy Way (William). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
In memory of Neva, her family suggests memorials to the New Nodaway Humane Society of Maryville.
