He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Shockley and Edna Shockley (Lemmons); his wife Carolyn Sue Applebee; his son John Forrest Shockley; and his siblings, Wilbur, Milford, Larry, Delmar, Jerry Shockley, Lola David, Lorene "Sweetie" Wild, Melba Baclesse and Sharon Laughlin.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Niswonger (Dave) of Mexico; his grandchildren, Stacey Williams of Mexico, Randy Beasley of Mexico and Cassie Beasley (Josh Calhoun) of Columbia; his great grandchildren, Camden Williams, James Varner and Cailyn Varner; and his sisters, Lucille Sieg of Linn, Darline Sieg of Westphalia and Diane Mitchem of Chamois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home (425 S Jefferson St, Mexico, MO 65265). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to Sunrise Christian Church.
