He was predeceased by: his fathers, Richard Allen Hoagland and Neal Hoagland (Riney); his stepfather Allan H. O'Leary, Jr.; his brother Danny Hoagland; and his brother-in-law Alan W. Oliver.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Hoagland of Mexico; his children, Jeffrey Hoagland of Mexico and Kimberly Gramke (Luke) of Centralia; his grandchildren, William Davis (Madasyn) of New Bloomfield, Chayse Davis of Mexico, Riley Gramke and Camden Gramke of Centralia; his great grandchildren, Huxley Phillips-Davis and Bailey Phillips-Davis of New Bloomfield; his sister-in-law Janet Brewer (Jack); his nephew Doug Reynolds (Kim); his niece Christina Moore (Josh); and his stepsiblings, Ed O'Leary, Kathy Tuley, Helen Burkhardt and Sheree Weddle. He is also survived by three aunts, several cousins and friends.
