He was predeceased by: his father Louis M. Whitaker; his grandparents, Claude, Jewell Dee Forsythe, Bert and Bertha Whitaker; his uncles, Donald Ray Forsythe and Claude "Bud" Forsythe, Jr.; his cousin Richard Whitaker; his son-in-law Timothy Connell; his father-in-law Paul Early; and his brothers-in-law, Paul "Dud" Early, Jr. (David) of Mexico, Patrick "Rick" Early and Peter "Tom" Early.
He is survived by: his mother Bonnie Whitaker (Forsythe) of Mexico; his wife Sue Whitaker of Mexico; his daughter Jennifer Whitaker Connell of Mexico; his grandchildren, TobyAnn Whitaker (Edwin), Ella Connell, Layla Reynolds and Paige Reynolds; his great grandchildren, Waylon Abbott, Hazel Reynolds and Oaklee Whitaker; his sister Anne Garcia (Marino) of Cincinnati, OH; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Lunsford (Wayne) of Mexico, Phyllis Jones (Gary) of Mexico, Penny Mechlin (Kenny) of Mexico, Patty Marie Early of Mexico and Chuck Early (Christy) of Mexico. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hardin Park (Mexico, MO 65265).
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be designated to Patty Cox for the harrowing heart journey for baby Dakota Cox.
