He is survived by : his children, Tammy R. Ames of Fayette, Jeanette L. Payne of Huntsville, Phillip D. Ames of Moberly, Dustin E. Ames, Patrick R. Ames and David L. Ames of Fort Drum, NY.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
